Brad Fenwick's Software Projects

Since 1997 I have been working with databases and writing a lot of business software applications. My main languages in use right now are PHP, Perl, Javascript, and Delphi. I am also fluent in SQL, HTML, CSS and SSI. I have a strong background in writing web-based applications and developing web sites. The web browser is the ultimate software today, not just for surfing the web but it has become the standard way businesses are implementing software solutions internally and externally. I was developing and advocating this approach in the early 1990's when this idea was almost unheard of. My experience in this area over the years has grown and I have developed tens of thousands of lines of code that I can now call on quickly and easily to do a wide range of solutions.

enACTION - A powerful application that takes a database and allows it to be accessed using a web browser. Once 'enacted' the programmer can use many routines provided to create forms and reports to access, update, and view the data easily. It is multi-user and inherently set up for use either in a local Intranet or over the Internet. Using this software Brad wrote from ground-up in Perl he also implemented solutions for clients of Xview. These include an inventory system for a warehousing company called Paramount Storage Inc. An accounting and cheque generating system for IATSE Local 63. Also under development is a rental system for Mallabar Apparels. This software has been in use in business-critical systems since 1999. Read more about it at the official enACTION website.

IDview - A hardware/software solution to allow pictures of documents and/or ID to be taken simultaneously with a picture of a person. Invented by Xview, with the software developed and designed by Brad Fenwick. This system has a number of uses, such as for building security, immigration and border checkpoints, and many more.
